Confidential counsellors

Confidential counsellors are available to anyone who reports a problem regarding situations of undesirable cross-border behaviour involving one or more UCLL students.  They offer a listening ear and focus on resolving unsafe and threatening situations as quickly as possible.

The confidants act neutrally and impartially, offering advice and helping to find the best possible answer to what presents itself as a problem. Where possible, they adopt a recovery-oriented approach. This ensures that once a conflict has been settled, all parties involved can move forward in confidence and with mutual respect.

The UCLL student counsellors work question-driven. Each step following a question or report is prepared and discussed in consultation with those involved.

The confidants have professional secrecy. This means that they only exchange information after your approval. Everything said in a conversation is treated with discretion.

Do you prefer to seek help outside UCLL or would you like to complain via the police? Then you can count on advice and guidance from the confidential advisers. The same applies if, as a student, you wish to lodge a complaint with the programme director responsible for his/her programme. The confidant can provide you with more information if necessary and assist you in formulating the complaint.
