Microsoft 365, formerly Office 365 is a line of subscription services offered by Microsoft. The Office 365 web apps are a standard part of this subscription; the Office 365 apps you can install on your computer offer more features.

Who can use Office 365 apps?
- All UCLL students for the duration of their studies at UCLL.
- Employees who are more than 40% employed and using a UCLL laptop or desktop.
The Office 365 apps can be installed on your laptop, desktop, smartphone or tablet and consists of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access (on Windows only), Outlook, OneNote and OneDrive. This is possible for up to 5 devices.
You also get OneDrive storage included, for school projects and tasks. The size of your OneDrive depends on your license type :

Option 1: For courses in the BYOD project
A number of programmes will enter the BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) project from September 2023, you will then be expected to have a laptop and the entire software portfolio will then go through Academic software for participating programmes.
- Log on to the Academic software website.
- Click on “Software” and type “Microsoft Office” in the search box to download your package.

Option 2: For everyone
This method applies to everyone, regardless of whether your course is part of the BYOD project.
- Log into the Office portal with your UCLL account.
- At the top right of the page, you will see a button that says 'Install and more.'
- Click on “Install Microsoft 365 apps. Then you can choose a language and download Office.
