VMware Workstation Player allows you to create a ‘virtual computer’: an isolated environment in which you can install, for example, Windows or Linux without affecting your actual system. This lets you safely experiment with software, practice using other operating systems or run programs that are not compatible with your OS. The tool is popular in IT education and system administration.
