ABOUT THIS SOFTWARE
The mBot from Makeblock is a STEM robot kit based on Arduino that is taught through block programming (Scratch/mBlock) and Python. You build the robot yourself using sensors such as ultrasonic or line-following, and then program it via the mBlock software.
It is ideal for education ranging from primary school to university level, where programming and robotics are taught in an integrated way. All components are color-coded and plug-and-play, keeping the entry barrier low.

- No registration or purchase is needed for basic functionality.

Installation manual
Download mBlock 5 for your operating system (Windows/macOS/Linux) from the download site.
- Install the software: for Windows an MSI file, for macOS a .dmg; on Linux the desktop version or use the web version in Chrome.
- (Windows/macOS) Also install mLink as a driver for USB / Bluetooth connection.
- Connect mBot via USB, Bluetooth (BLE) or 2.4 GHz module. Open mBlock and add the device via Devices → mBot. Click “Connect” to establish the connection.
- Choose programming mode: Live (real-time debug) or Upload (program and disconnect from PC). Start with block programming or write Python code.
- If needed, update firmware via Firmware Update within mBlock.
