About this software
With Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), you can use your own PC to connect to a virtual computer from home or elsewhere. Through this virtual PC, you have access to programs and facilities provided by the university. All of this happens over the internet in a fully secure manner.

- E4Progress
- SPSS
- PowerBI
- Microsoft 365
What do you need to use Azure Virtual Desktop?
- A personal device with Windows 10, version 21H2 or higher (including LTSC and IoT Enterprise), or Apple macOS 12.0 or higher
- Windows App
- Internet connection
- Access rights to the Azure Remote Desktop environment
Why does it take a while to start up?
When you start an Azure Virtual Desktop session, a virtual machine is set up for you at that moment in Microsoft's cloud. This means several steps take place behind the scenes: the virtual machine is started, your profile is loaded, and the necessary software is made available. This process can take a few minutes, especially the first time you use it or during busy periods when many students are logging in at the same time. Once the session is active, you won't need to wait again as long as you stay connected.
Tip: Start your AVD session in good time if you need the software for a class or assignment.
Installing the Windows App
Windows:
Download and install the Windows App from the Microsoft Store. Once installed, open the app. You can visit Microsoft's website for more information.
After installation, you can subscribe to the UCLL environment by signing in with your r-number@ucll.be (or u-number@ucll.be) and corresponding password.
macOS:
Download and install the Windows App from the Mac App Store. Once installed, open the app. You can visit Microsoft's website for more information.
