How to report? Via the report button!

The digital reporting button is the quickest way to get advice, help or request intervention. It is there for anyone who wants to report situations of inappropriate behaviour:

  • victims, witnesses of inappropriate behaviour,
  • third parties who are aware of situations involving inappropriate behaviour,
  • but also as a person who contributes to the undesirable inappropriate behaviour.

The report button connects you to the confidential advisors for students.

Anyone who uses the report button can count on maximum discretion and a personal, confidential approach.

Every report that comes in via the digital report button is taken seriously. Therefore, only use this button if you want to make a “real” report.

This must involve someone connected to UCLL.

What happens after a report via the digital report button?

Contact

Your report will be forwarded to the confidential advisors, who will contact you within three working days. The only exception to this is during official holidays.

Initial conversation

This conversation will take place at a time and location that ensures discretion, and can also be conducted online. During the initial conversation, the confidential advisor will listen to you, help clarify the question or report, and consider what is desirable and possible. All possible scenarios for assistance will be considered and discussed with you. This will allow you to make an informed choice. Every subsequent step will be taken in consultation with you.

Here are a few possibilities:

  • As a victim or witness, you simply want to seek redress and would prefer not to take any further action.
  • You are aware of a problematic situation and want to bring it to attention without being involved yourself.
  • You are a witness to a problematic situation and are wondering what you can do yourself.
  • As a victim or bystander, you would like the confidential advisor to talk to the person who has behaved inappropriately towards you.
  • As a victim, you are in favour of a restorative mediation process.
  • You would prefer not to be helped by UCLL staff and would like appropriate external help.
  • You choose to file a formal complaint with UCLL.
  • You wish to file a complaint with the police and wonder what is required and how to do so.

The contact form is intended for anyone who wishes to report a situation in which there is (possibly) undesirable transgressive behaviour.
