Pytest is a tool for testing Python code. It allows you to structure and run tests automatically, so you can quickly see whether the code behaves as expected. It supports simple test functions, reusable test components (fixtures), and running multiple tests with different data values. pytest is suitable for both small projects and extensive testing environments.

pytest is free and open source, under the MIT license.

Installation manual

- Make sure you have Python 3.8+ or PyPy3 or higher installed
- Open the command line (Command Prompt on Windows, Terminal on macOS/Linux)
- Run the command to install or update pytest to the latest version
    - pip install -U pytest
- Check if pytest is installed correctly with
    
    
    - pytest --version
