# Confidential counsellors students and visitors Confidential counsellors for students and visitors The confidential advisors **are available** to anyone who wishes to report a situation of undesirable transgressive behaviour involving one or more UCLL students. They offer a listening ear and work with the person reporting the incident to determine what follow-up steps are possible and desirable. The confidential advisors take a **neutral and impartial** stance, give advice and help to find the best possible solution to the problem at hand. Where possible, they opt for a restorative approach. This ensures that all those involved can move forward in confidence and with mutual respect. The student confidential advisors **work on a demand-driven basis**. Every step that follows a question or report is prepared and discussed in consultation with those involved. The confidential advisors are bound by **professional secrecy**. This means that they will only exchange information and take action with your approval. Everything that is said in a conversation will be treated with discretion. Would you rather seek help outside UCLL or do you want to file a complaint with the police? Then you can count on **advice and guidance** from the confidential advisors. The same applies if you, as a student, want to file a complaint with the programme director responsible for your programme. The confidential advisor can provide you with more information if necessary and assist you in formulating the complaint.
